Human Being navigating life right there with you

Therapist Jamie

Hi, I’m Jamie. I have been holding space for individuals to heal and grow in many shapes and forms for the past decade. In addition to my experience practicing therapy, I ventured off the traditional path for several years to study Evolutionary Astrology under Steven Forrest in his Astrological Apprenticeship Program and to work as an assistant to Dr. Siva Mohan at her Ayurvedic Private Practice. These experiences allow me to take a holistic approach in my work with clients, meaning I consider the whole person (Mind, Body, and Soul).

After moving to Austin, I spent two years building a private practice at Austin Family Counseling under the supervision of Lora Ferguson.

I have lost count of the number of guides, healers and therapists I have invested in working with myself. I value personal growth above most things. I am grateful for the many wise mentors along my path.

Human Jamie

I grew up in Southern California and will always be a lover of the sun, ocean, and “cool” culture that permeates LA.

I moved to Austin based on instinct. I wanted to set off on a new adventure. I’m glad I did. Austin has been a beautiful setting for my personal growth and self-discovery, and I love the food, creativity, open-mindedness and abundance of nature here (Wildflower Center, anyone?).

I am a recovering people-pleaser and hustler. Up until my late-twenties, I was busy, busy, busy. Going, going, going. And I wore it like a badge of honor. I had no idea how out of balance I was or what balance actually felt like. Over the last handful of years, I have shifted my relationship with Overcommitment and Saying Yes to Everyone. I’ve worked to make friends with Honesty and Limits and the word No.

I am spiritual at my core. Yoga class feels like church. Gene Keys and The Inner Sky are two books that have helped me understand myself and life more deeply.  A tropical climate is where I feel most alive and free. Costa Rica is one of my favorite places on this earth. The green, the wildlife, the beauty. Nature is the fastest way to peace for me.

I appreciate the arts and anything that feels creative. I love a good story whether movie, series or book (check out some of my favorite books). I will most likely share stories with you or suggest books/poetry to supplement our work together because stories are powerful and good for the soul.

I’m glad you’ve made your way here. Learn more about working together and schedule a consultation call to get started.
